1. What is the difference between Pre-Galvanized and Hot-Dipped Galvanized steel?
The CROWDMASTER LD is made from pre-galvanized steel, where the steel is coated before the barricade is manufactured. This provides a clean, smooth finish and good weather resistance. In contrast, our Heavy Duty (HD) models are hot-dipped after welding for maximum outdoor protection. The LD model is perfect for indoor use or temporary outdoor events where lightweight handling is the priority.
2. Can the CROWDMASTER LD handle large, aggressive crowds?
While the LD model features extraordinary strength thanks to its 21 welded risers, it is categorized as a light duty barricade. For high-pressure environments like music festivals or sporting events where the crowd may push against the barrier, we recommend our CROWDMASTER HD (Heavy Duty) series.
3. Is the LD model compatible with HD barricades?
Yes! All CROWDMASTER barricades use the industry-standard hook and loop fastening system. You can seamlessly interlock the Light Duty units with our Heavy Duty units, allowing you to mix and match your inventory based on the specific needs of different sections of your venue.
4. Why is indoor storage recommended for the LD model?
Because the steel is pre-galvanized, the cut edges and weld points are slightly more susceptible to rust over time if left in constant rain or snow. To keep your lightweight crowd barrier looking new and extending its lifespan, we recommend storing it indoors when not in use.
